Hirsch & Partners : Intellectual Property Attorneys

The origins of our firm date back to 1968 when Marc-Roger Hirsch founded the firm of patent and trademark attorneys which was subsequently to become Hirsch & Partners.

Rapid development of our patent filing and prosecution activities and very strong development in the trademarks field together with increasing demand for a firm able to provide high-quality patent and trademark litigation services led to the creation of our sister company, the law firm of Hirsch & Associés in the 1990s, specializing in IP litigation.

Our ability to benefit from the specialized legal input, when needed, from the lawyers, themselves specialized in IP law, of our sister company, Hirsch & Associés puts Hirsch & Partners in the strong position of enjoying dual competence in both the legal and technological fields.

We assist clients in matters of trademark, patent and design filing and prosecution. Searches, analysis of prior art and filing and prosecuting applications in France, at European Community level and internationally (this is one of our strong points – see below) make up a significant part of our business.

Our Patent Engineers specialized in chemistry, biotechnology, mechanical engineering, electronics and telecommunications allow our Patent Attorneys to satisfy the needs of major French and international groups, notably in the chemical, life sciences, agri-food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and high technology fields.

Our Trademarks people handle trademark portfolio management worldwide while contributing to the success of our sister company, Hirsch & Associés’s, in matters of trademark litigation.

Apart from these traditional services, our firm provides a variety of services ranging from auditing of IP portfolios to cooperation agreements and disputes relating to employee inventions.

One of our particularly strong points is our ability to act internationally without the inevitable delays and expense involved in using intermediaries The fact of having native foreign-language speaking people on our staff allows us – apart from handling cases at the European and International offices (the WIPO, OHIM and EPO) to act directly before the German (DPMA), British (UK IPO), Benelux and Monaco national IP offices.
